International Orders FAQs

Brexit: What does this mean for EU customers?

As our website is shipping from the UK to the EU, when customers outside the UK buy from us, they also have to pay VAT to their own country, if the purchase price is above 22 euros.

How much is the VAT?

This VAT is between 17 and 27 percent depending on the country.

Are there additional import duties?

For orders above 150 euros customers also have to pay import duties and they might also have to pay the clearance costs.
Many customers in the EU are not aware of these costs, especially because they might not have been paying attention to Brexit as much as people in the UK.

What happens to returns?

In certain circumstances, it may be possible to receive a refund of customs duties paid, provided the goods you bought have been returned. View our full returns policy here.

What we do to inform our visitors:

Since we don't want visitors to face unexpected higher costs for their orders from abroad, we are trying to clearly communicate the consequences of Brexit to visitors on our website.
Specifically, this means that on our website (https://paguroupcycle.com) we are adding to the store information that customers should be aware of possible additional costs when purchasing from us.

Taxes and other charges

You should be aware that from 1 January 2021, you may have to pay taxes and duties such as customs duty and VAT when you buy from a UK business (except Northern Ireland).
Whether or not you must pay additional charges depends on the value and origin of the products you bought - see table below.

Value limits Taxes and charges
Packages valued 22 euros or less You do not have to pay any additional import charges
Packages valued more than 22 euros You have to pay VAT at the same rate that applies if they were bought in the EU country.

This is the case even if you are charged UK VAT on your purchase. You may be able to get a refund of the UK VAT (if applicable).

Packages valued more than 150 euros You may also have to pay customs duty
  • You don’t have to pay customs duty on products that are made in the UK.
  • You may have to pay customs duty if the products are manufactured outside the UK. The rate of duty depends on the category of product.
